Tatler is a popular Queenstown function venue, suitable for private dinners, wedding receptions, board meetings, conferences and other special events.
Our professional event management team are happy to suggest the perfect menu and beverages for your event. We offer a variety of catering styles including canapes, plated meals, degustation menus, buffet dinners and substantial finger food.
For a seated dinner we can accommodate 110 guests: downstairs, we can seat 70 in the main restaurant and upstairs The Spectator Room seats 40 guests - 28 in the main room and 12 on the covered, heated balcony (with lake and mountain views).
Private Dining
The Spectator Room is fully self-contained with its own private bar, bathroom and original open fire. We reguarly host intimate dinner parties and wedding receptions in the Spectator Room and during the day, it's available for board meetings and corporate lunches. Please enquire about our conference and day-delegate packages.
At night, a popular option is to use the upstairs Spectator Room for pre-dinner drinks then move downstairs for dinner in the main restaurant.
Its data projector and MySky facility makes the Spectator Room the perfect Queenstown live rugby venue - we have designed a special dinner-game package for All Black rugby test nights.
Large Events
For events with more than 110 guests, you may like to consider our sister restaurant, Prime Waterfront Restaurant and Bar. Prime can comfortably seat 180 guests and accommodates 250 for cocktail parties.
For even larger groups, ask about our marquee option - we hosted 900 guests for the farewell at TRENZ in May.
Testimonials
Hi Jo, The night went really well so please thank the team. I had no end of people telling me what a wonderful meal it was.

"Chris and I would just like to say a big thanks to you for all your help in organising our evening at the Tatler. We had an amazing time and all our guests had loads of fun, loved the food and commented on how having a wedding party around one large table was the best idea they'd ever seen.
We will highly recommend the Tatler to anyone looking to host a function, particularly a wedding party, as all of our small details were taken care of - the menus were classic (we've kept one inside our guest book) and the Spectator Room (and balcony) was decorated beyond our expectations. And lastly, the service on the evening was impeccable, the girls were so friendly towards all our guests and took a personal interest in our wedding - and as a bride I was totally and honestly reassured that everything would be looked after and I had a fun and relaxed evening.

The services we received from the initial enquiry right through to post event was fantastic. If is such a pleasure to work with a professional team when you are showcasing Queenstown to international conference groups. We only wish that we could have a Jo Weir in all the destinations we work. Iconic Tatler always produces fantastic service. For a Dine-a-round evening, using Prime and Tatler is ideal - one person to work with on the event and with the close proximity of the restaurants it is really just a smooth process. Thanks for making part of my job a lot easier!

The Spectator Room was the perfect venue for our staff dinner and having Volution's private poker party on-site was a bonus. Great food, excellent wine and relaxed service - we had such a fun night.

I would like to thank you for your assistance in providing a fantastic experience for our group over the weekend. The Spectator Room was a perfect venue for our group on the Friday night and on the Saturday we ended up dining at Prime, which was ideal for our group of hungry men. Next year is the 10th anniversary of our tournament and there is some talk of heading overseas to celebrate, however I am sure that given the success of this weekend we will be back in Queenstown for a number of years to come. Please pass on my thanks to all staff concerned, the food and service we received was superb.

We are now back home after busy few weeks with the Wedding, Christmas and New Year! We wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our post wedding dinner at Tatler on the 17th of December. The food was excellent and your waitress friendly and helpful. The use of the Spectator Room was certainly an added bonus and the balcony was fantastic for what was a perfect summer's evening. Many thanks for going the extra mile, it was a memorable evening.

Tatler was absolutely first class. Some of the best food and wine matches I have ever seen, elegant and not OTT food and great service. Perhaps the best restaurant Pinot Noir Celebration lunch I have had.

Hi Jo
Just wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous evening at Tatler.
Everything about the night was wonderful, the table setting, the roaring fire, the food amazing. Shane was great, friendly and he certainly looked after us all.
As a local I will certainly be recommending Tatler to people for all occasions.
Thank you very much to all your staff there for making my husband's birthday so special.

I just wanted to say thank you for all your assistance with our lunch on Saturday. We had a great time. The food was absolutely divine! I didn’t hear anything but rave reviews about every course. The room upstairs suited us perfectly, and the staff were wonderful – so friendly and helpful. Could you please pass on our thanks to them.

Hi Jo and Shane, Thanks so much for your efforts around the show with Greg Johnson. It was lovely to have such a good night in Queenstown. Having the band based at Tatler worked well and Kendall was a top host there. We got back on Monday from the final leg of the tour and things went nicely across the country. So Greg has headed back to LA a happy man. Thanks again and all the best for winter.

Hi Jo, Shelley and I have just arrived home from Queenstown after an unforgettable trip. It's a pity we did not get to meet in person but I would like to thank you for all your help in planning the night at Tatler. Everything from the service to the food, music and atmosphere exceeded our expectations and we could not be happier. Perhaps we will get to meet one day on one of our return trips to your incredible part of the world.
